Adventure Edge

Overview

Breakthroughs happen more on mountains than in boardrooms.

When you're stuck in patterns that aren't serving you, it’s time to get out of the office. Adventure Edge is a fully customized multi-day immersive experience that blends physical adventure with transformational coaching.

Whether you're going solo or with your co-founder, we'll design the perfect off-site experience around your needs. Think hiking, skiing, or whatever gets you moving and thinking differently. Everything’s included in the coaching package except flights – lodging, meals, hot tubs – so you can focus on the real work.

You get full coaching access throughout, dedicated reflection time each evening, and post-experience integration to make sure insights stick. No caps, no time limits, just the space to rethink how you lead.

Meet Your Coach And Guide

Mike R. Sweeney

Mike has logged miles in more ways than one – across the country in a VW bus, pounding out marathons, and guiding leaders through the rugged terrain of transitions. An executive coach, organizational psychologist, and founder of Saber, he’s worked with high-performing leaders to discover their edge and move from good to great in half the time.

A former English major turned Army tank officer, Mike brings equal parts grit and curiosity to his work. He’s coached clients while running along the Charles River, in boardrooms, and deep in the woods.

When he’s not helping leaders navigate the liminal space between “what’s now” and “what’s next,” he’s embracing the chaos and joy of raising three daughters – which may be the most advanced leadership program of them all.

Brian Ketz

Brian has worn a lot of hats – some Kevlar, some wool, and a few that smelled suspiciously like campfire smoke. He enlisted in the Army in 1992, earned his commission in 1998 through ROTC at Norwich University, and went on to command at multiple levels, from a platoon to a brigade.

A Ranger School graduate, Brian has led soldiers through deserts, mountains, and the occasional “character-building” downpour. Over a 30-year career, he served in Armor, Finance, and Sustainment formations across the U.S., Korea, and Germany, with multiple deployments to Iraq. Now retired, he’s still chasing challenge and camaraderie – just with fewer sandstorms and more trail mix.

Why Combine Adventure With Coaching?

Because breakthroughs rarely happen in the same environment where patterns were created. Stepping into mountains, rivers, or wilderness means leaving behind titles, routines, and noise. And it’s often the physical challenge itself that breaks patterns faster than talk alone, opening space for new ways of thinking.

In that setting, coaching lands differently – insights don’t just stay in your head, they settle into your body.

That’s why leaders often return from these adventures not just with ideas, but with lasting shifts in how they think, act, and lead.

01

How physically demanding is this?

It depends on your chosen adventure. Some trips involve long hikes with elevation and packs; others focus more on skiing, climbing, or multi-day exploration. We’ll match the challenge to your ability and goals.

02

Do I need prior outdoor experience?

No. Each experience is fully guided and supported. What matters most is your openness to discomfort and your willingness to engage fully.

03

What if I can’t be away for a week?

Not all experiences are week-long. We design the length and intensity around your schedule, from long weekends to multi-day expeditions.

04

What happens after the trip?

The real value isn’t just what happens on the mountain – it’s how you carry it home. After the trip, we’ll work together to turn insights into action. That means private coaching sessions to deepen what you learned, group calls to keep momentum, and accountability tools to make sure the transformation shows up in your work and life.

05

Why is the investment so high?

This is not a retreat or a workshop. It’s a fully customized leadership intervention with months of preparation and follow-up, led by a seasoned coach with decades of experience in executive performance and real-world resilience. Everything is designed around you – and that level of focus creates results you can’t get anywhere else.

It’s an investment not just in an experience, but in a lasting shift in how you lead and live.
